The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a 24-hour suspension of gas supply for all industrial customers on Sunday, a move that reflects the ongoing pressure on Pakistan’s energy infrastructure. This decision is part of the company’s load management strategy, which prioritizes domestic consumers during periods of low supply.
The SSGC stated in a press release that the management had made the decision to manage the impose appropriately between all sectors and to develop strong line-packs. Stated in the press release “Gas closure from 8:00 am on Sunday, April 12, 2026 till 8:00 am on Monday, April 13, 2026”
As part of its load management strategy, SSGC initiated planned gas load shedding in a number of Pakistani locations to address the system’s deficiency. The goal of this method is to balance the natural gas supply and demand, particularly during periods of high usage.
